The Missouri Free Will Baptist Home Mission Board contacted me late in 1971 to give them a status report regarding the needed repairs on the building on their property in Independence. After I submitted the report, they asked if I would be able to make the repairs and also if I would consider becoming their Home Missionary here in Independence. After much prayer by myself and my wife, Jeannie, we decided that God was leading us to do both. Thus began our life-long ministry in Independence. We have completed 52 years here and look forward to many more if the Lord be willing. God has richly blessed us and the Church as we have served Him. We pray that the many who have been blessed here will bless others as they travel wherever God leads them. We have had missionaries, pastors, doctors, business owners, laborers, and all kinds of people who have been a part of our Church at one time or another. There have been some from different nationalities, countries, and languages, but all have been welcomed by our church family. We look forward to serving all who God may send our way while we labor here. Come and visit with us, "come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the LORD hath spoken . . ." Numbers 10:29.
